The annual award ceremony that acknowledges research funding and honours excellence in the School of Engineering at UKZN, took place at the end of November at the International Convention Centre (ICC), Durban.

The Engineering Awards Banquet is hosted annually by UKZN’s School of Engineering. At this premium event, awards are conferred on donors for financial support to the School, outstanding researchers and excellent scholastic achievement by students. This event has been part of the Engineering calendar at UKZN for approximately 10 years.

According to Dr Rudi Kimmie, Manager of the Hub for the African City of the Future (AfriHUB) and Master of Ceremonies at the event, ‘It’s important to honour the support and commitment by donors, staff and students to the vision of UKZN.’

‘The Engineering Awards Banquet has played an important role in maintaining sustainable links with corporate donors as well affirming the achievement of our academic colleagues,’ said Kimmie
‘What made the Engineering Awards Banquet 2017 even more special was an update on the School’s signature project, AfriHUB, and the launch of the Inkanyezi Awards for Professional and Humanitarian Service Excellence’ said Kimmie.

Congratulations to all those who received awards!
