Abstract: The presentation will provide an overview of lawful data processing in its national, regional and international context. The presentation will also highlight ways in which the Act may impact upon teaching and research in Higher Education, particularly in new areas of knowledge such as ‘big data’ and artificial intelligence.
Bio: Dusty Donnelly (BA LLB LLM) is an admitted Advocate of the High Court of South Africa, and previously practised as an attorney for several years in the field of maritime and international trade law. She is currently a junior lecturer in the School of Law, Howard College and acts as an internal moderator and external examiner in business law subjects.
