This talk will be discussing a number of scenarios for South Africa in 2021 based on detailed simulations highlighting the very different possibilities that may occur depending on mutations, vaccinations and many other unknowns.
Bio: Bruce Bassett is a Professor of Applied Maths at UCT, head of cosmology and machine learning at AIMS, South Africa, a research astronomer at SAAO and leads the epidemiological modelling of COVID for SARAO as part of the National Ventilator project.
