Online Lecture: RELEVANCE OF WATER-ENERGY-FOOD NEXUS for FOOD SECURITY AND POVERTY ALLEVIATION
Join our ONLINE lecture for the launch of the 2022 UKZN Food Security Culture as we start the culture of food security on our campuses. The vision of the UKZN Food Security Programme is to mitigate food insecurity in the student population, encouraging a participatory approach to identify student food needs and associated issues in the context of human health, wellness, co-habitation and contribution to advocacy policies related to human rights and sustainable development within and outside UKZN.
We seek to produce and continually review a comprehensive collection of ongoing activities and processes that will be used by the current and future generations of UKZN students, staff and stakeholders as a strategy to systematically coordinate and align resources and actions with our vision and mission in the context of the University of KwaZulu-Natal strategic goals.
The core commitments relate to transformative student empowerment for performance impact on education, learning, research, pride, community engagement, enhancing the UKZN strategic goals and creating opportunities, knowledge generation and sharing to support policy dialogue and reform in the higher education sector through exemplary outcomes.
Our six strategic commitments are:
• Transformative Student Empowerment
• Impact on Education Learning and Research
• Pride in Community Engagement
• Enhancing UKZN Strategic Goals
• Creating Opportunities for Knowledge Generation and Sharing
• Supporting Policy Dialogue
