
STEC@UKZN Holiday Workshops – Make a Barometer
Dr T” of the UKZN Science Centre will be hosting a series of fun and informative Science workshops for primary school pupils during the July School holidays, 5-9 July, 15h00-16h00 daily .
You will build your own wind vane as part of your weather station to measure your wind direction.
Discover different ways on how to build your very own barometer and find out on how you can predict weather changes.
What you will need:
- Glass jar (e.g. jam jar)
- Balloon (unused)
- Rubber bands
- Adhesive tape
- 2 plastic drinking straws or long wooden skewer
- Toothpick
- A piece of thick paper
- A ruler
- Marking pens
- Scissors
