The annual open day provides a remarkable platform to engage with prospective students, offering a profound opportunity to illuminate the array of support, prospects, and resources that the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) extends. As the CAES Matric Helpline, we seized the occasion participating actively in both the Westville and PMB open days.
Our interaction with numerous grade 12 students proved to be both invigorating and enlightening. An additional 455 learners enthusiastically enrolled in our database and online lessons, underscoring the resonance of our program. Parents and teachers were equally pleased to learn that UKZN is committed to offering vital support to local grade 12 students as they pursue their dreams.
In addition to raising awareness, we extended our efforts to assist our adopted schools in attending the PMB open day. A total of 120 learners from Ikusaselihle High School, Umvuzo Secondary, and Albini High, whom we have proudly adopted, were transported to the campus for a Saturday class. This initiative allowed them to explore the open day and gain insights into suitable programs for
their future endeavours. We express our gratitude to the Pietermaritzburg PR Department for their generous contributions, which enabled us to provide each learner with a special CAES bag. We were able to fill these bags with a few goodies. Looking ahead, we are excited about expanding our reach, both through physical engagements and our impactful online classes.
